Please remember healing is a process, follow your aftercare and give your procedure time to heal for the best results and retention.
For all procedures
*Wash your hands before touching any procedure site
For the first 10 days-
-Avoid sleeping on your face
-No sweating/exercising /heavy exertion
-Avoid water on the procedure site when showering/bathing
For the first 14 days-
-No swimming, no salt water, chlorine, or lake water
-Do not rub, scratch or pick the procedure site
-Do not apply any makeup or cosmetics directly to the procedure site
(makeup may be carefully applied around the tattoo)
-Do not apply ointment/lotion/or aftercare that was not recommended directly to you by Micro Ink & Artistry
For the first 30 days-
-Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning, hats are great for shading your tattoo
-No suanas, steam rooms, skin treatments etc
30 days and beyond
-Fading is unavoidable, follow these tips to significantly slow down the process
-Use suncreen daily on your permanent makeup
-Avoid peels, retin-a or any dirivative, exfoliations, microdermabraision, or any product that promotes brighter skin tone or even skin tone on and near your permanent makeup.
-For lips, always keep hydrated and use a lip balm containing SPF
-Avoid using products to tint or dye lashes and eyebrows
-Follow recommended color boost/retouch schedule
Brows-
-Day of procedure, blot gently with tissue as needed to absorb lymph fluid
-After a minimumof 6 hours post procedure, cleanse brows gently and rinse. Pat dry. (6 hours ensures the skin has had ample time to begin closing)
-Apply a rice grain size amount of aftercare balm with a clean q-tip
-For the next 7 days, gently cleanse brows morning and night and pat dry. Apply a rice grain size amount of aftercare balm with q-tip. LESS IS MORE. Over applying product with be detrimental to your tattoo.
Lips-
-Use cold packs as needed, 15 minutes on, 5 minutes off
-Swelling should peak on day 2-3, sleeping with head elevated can help reduce swelling and discomfort
-Drink through a straw for first 3 days
-Avoid hot, spicy and acidic food until healed
-Cleanse lips morning and night for the first 7 days
-Apply aftercare balm or aquaphor as needed
-It is normal for lips to feel chapped until fully healed
Eyeliner-
-Use cold packs as needed, 15 minutes on, 5 minutes off
-Dab eyes gently with tissue as necessary to absorb any watering or tears.
-Eyeliner uses dry healing method... no balm, ointment, water, cleansers, moisture or sweat until scabs are gone (typically 7-10 days. Usually you will notice little flecks of color on your face after sleeping as the scabs begin to exfoliate)
-Eyelids feeling tight and itchy is normal, resist scratching and picking
-Use caution when putting in/taking out contacts as to not allow solution to run or stay on eyelid
-Sleeping with head elevated can help reduce swelling and discomfort
-If necessary, to remove ‘sleep’ upon waking, gently wipe the corners of eye with clean finger tips, dampened with water and pat dry
-Avoid any makeup on eyeliner tattoo for 10 days
-After 10 days, you may return to normal makeup routine, however, use a new tube of mascara and sanitize any makeup brushes that will be used on the eyelid
